Instructions to presenters
Oral presentations in parallel sessions
The ESEE Conference in 2017 is committed to encourage dialogue between participants as far as a classic conference format allows. Hence, even though the organisers are aware of the fact that no research can be described in much detail in a short period of time, in order to enable the audience to participate, frontal, one-way presentations will be strictly limited to 10 minutes, followed by a 10 minute discussion. A 10-minute presentation may only be sufficient for raising attention to a particular research or address a few points where the authors are awaiting some feedback from the audience. In general, a 90-minute session will include four, a 120-minute session five papers. In those sessions, where there may be less papers, presenters will still only have 10 minutes each and it is up to the session chair to decide how to best use the remaining time.
If using a PowerPoint (or any other computer) presentation, please note you need to bring it on a pendrive and load it onto the conference’ computers in the room of your parallel session at least 15 minutes before the start of the session. Please note that the conference computers in the session rooms run on Windows and are being supplied with direct Internet connection. Please make sure that your presentations are compatible with Windows. If combining video films with PowerPoint, please make sure to check it in the session room where your lecture is taking place prior to your session. Supplying your own laptop computer may be problematic due to university network security. If you absolutely must use your own computer in special cases (e.g. presenting models not compatible with Windows), please contact the conference organisers well in advance.
The main goal of the poster presentations is to gain maximum benefit from the scientific work and to create a lively interaction between poster authors and interested conference participants. Poster presentations will be organized during the Poster Sessions on Wednesday, June 21 and Thursday, June 22 (13.00-14.00). Posters have been assigned to one of these two poster sessions. It appears in the programme which poster presenters are available for a talk on Wednesday and which on Thursday.
All poster authors need to bring a hardcopy poster to the conference. Size of poster must be 90 cm wide and 120 cm high (A0 size).
Posters will be presented in the Poster Area, which is located near Lecture Hall IV, where all keynotes will be held. One poster board will be allocated for each poster presentation. The programme contains the number of poster assigned to the abstract. This number can also be seen in the mobile app. A printed number identifying each poster board will be already on the board when poster presenter mount them on the poster boards. All posters need to mount on the poster boards by the presenters themselves but help will be available and necessary tools such as mounting tapes will be provided. Assistance and material will be available from the registration desk. Posters can be mount from Tuesday, June 20th noon but must be mount before noon on Wednesday, 21 June for those presenting on Wednesday and Thursday, 22 June for those presenting on Thursday. However, all authors are encouraged to put the posters up as soon as possible.
Posters will be on display in the poster area on Wednesday and Thursday and will be open for viewing during the whole conference. Posters should be removed before 17:00 on Friday, June 23. If posters are not removed within the time for dismantling, they will be removed and disposed of.
ESEE2017 poster awards will be decided based on the evaluations of the posters by the participants in the mobile app of the conference. The award ceremony is during the closing ceremony of ESEE2017.
